At New Seeds Acupuncture, the medicine we practice is grounded in tradition, strengthened by research, and enriched through continuous learning and collaboration, with you and your providers.
We are an evidence informed, patient centered, integrative clinical practice working to improve your health and wellbeing, and enhance your current medical care.
Artemisia annua is a traditional herb still used in the clinic today. Inspired by this traditional knowledge, 2015 Nobel Laureate Tu Youyou isolated artemisinin in her laboratory for the treatment of malaria (Andersson et al., 2025). Today it is used in combination therapy as an effective first line treatment for malaria worldwide (Daily et al., 2022; Diallo et al., 2020).
This highlight provides a glimpse of the many ways in which Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM) has evolved over millennia through clinical practice, iteration, and scientific discovery. This enduring and highly effective form of integrative medical care is a beautiful testament to generations of practitioners sharing knowledge, improving methods, and continually enhancing a medicine through investigation and collaboration (Smith et al., 2024).
